26 LC 112 4217 House Resolution 2123 By: Representative Griffin of the 149th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Mrs. Nathalie Huffman Griffin, retir ed educator, on the1 occasion of her 60th wedding anniversary; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, on June 15, 1966, in Columbus, Georgia, Representative Floyd L. Griffin Jr.3 and Mrs. Nathalie Huffman Griffin were united in holy matrimony, beginning a remarkable4 journey of love, faith, and partnership that has endured for six decades; and5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Nathalie Huffman Griffin, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, is a proud6 graduate of Tuskegee University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science, and she has7 distinguished herself as a dedicated educator, shaping the mind s and futures of countless8 students throughout her career; and9 WHEREAS, as a retired educator, she has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to learning,10 excellence, and the advancement of others, leaving a lasting legacy in the field of education;11 and12 WHEREAS, throughout 60 years of marriage, she has exemplified grace, strength, wisdom,13 and unwavering devotion as a wife, mothe r, grandmother, and gui ding force within her14 family and community; and15 H. R. 2123 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4217 WHEREAS, she has been a steadfast and loving partner to her hus band, supporting him16 faithfully through his distinguished military service, business endeavors, and decades of17 public service to the citizens of Georgia; and18 WHEREAS, together they have built a strong and loving family, including their sons, Brian19 Griffin and his wife, Terra Griffin, and Eric Griffin and his wife, Susan Griffin; and20 WHEREAS, Mrs. Griffin has been a devoted and nurturing grandmother to Jamal Griffin,21 Brandon Griffin, Bakari Griffin, and Braxton Griffin and his wife, Angelina Griffin, and has22 lovingly extended her care and guidance to her goddaughter, Kim berly Simmons and her23 husband, Eric Simmons, as well as to her family, including her sister-in-law, Delbra Griffin24 Waller; and25 WHEREAS, as a grandmother, she has nourished her grandchildren with warmth, patience,26 and encouragement while faithfully supporting them through impo rtant life milestones,27 leaving an enduring imprint of love and guidance upon their lives; and28 WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Nathalie Huffman Griffin has served29 as an adult Sunday School teacher, sharing wisdom, teaching the Word, and helping to30 strengthen the spiritual foundation of countless individuals; and31 WHEREAS, her life stands as a shining example of love, service, faith, and commitment, and32 her contributions have enriched not only her family but also her church, her students, and her33 community; and34 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng accomplishments and35 enduring legacy of this remarkable woman be appropriately recognized.36 H. R. 2123 - 2 - 26 LC 112 4217 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that37 the members of this body commend Mrs. Nathalie Huffman Griffin for her extraordinary life38 and legacy and extend their warmest congratulations to her and Representative Floyd L.39 Griffin Jr. on the joyous occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.40 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized41 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mrs.42 Nathalie Huffman Griffin.43 H.
