26 LC 112 4229 House Resolution 2115 By: Representatives Lumsden of the 12th, Dempsey of the 13th, and Barton of the 5th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor recipient1 Sarah Huffman; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Sarah Huffman is a native of Rome who currently serves as the Assistant3 Director of Human Resources and Risk Management for the City of Rome; and4 WHEREAS, Sarah volunteers her time and energy to numerous civic projects, and her5 approach to service is hands-on, visionary, and deeply rooted i n a belief that communities6 thrive when individuals step up to give their time and talent; and 7 WHEREAS, Sarah demonstrates service to her community through he r involvement as a8 Board member of Habitat for Humanity - Coosa Valley; The Davis Shelter; GB Federal9 Credit Union; and Leadership Rome, Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce; and 10 WHEREAS, Sarah has served as a Volunteer Judge for GNTC GOAL Awards since 2014;11 for the Darlington School Tech Competition; and the Rome City Schools Tech Competition;12 and13 H. R. 2115 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4229 WHEREAS, Sarah is an active member of Leadership Rome Alumni; w as honored as the14 Young Professional of the Year—2022, Rome Floyd Chamber of Comm erce; has been a15 "celebrity" participant in the Sexual Assault Center of NWGA Celebrity Dance Challenge;16 and a supporter and donor of various other community organizations including, TRED, Rome17 Little Theater, Rome Pride, and PFLG Rome; and 18 WHEREAS, Sarah has supported education as a volunteer for various Rome City Schools19 Programs; as a former mentor for Rome Middle School "Habitudes" program; and a20 volunteer reader for Read Across America Week.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body recognize Sarah Huffman for her outsta nding dedication to the23 community, commend her as a recipient of the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor,24 and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sarah27 Huffman.28 H.
