26 LC 112 4212 Senate Resolution 1106 By: Senators Anderson of the 43rd, Davenport of the 17th and Orrock of the 36th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Laura James; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Laura James has faithfully served with The UPS Foundat ion (TUPSF) since2 2010, contributing more than a decade of unwavering dedication, leadership, and impact; and3 WHEREAS, throughout her tenure, Laura has demonstrated exceptio nal commitment to4 strengthening communities, most notably by coordinating coat drives that have collectively5 brought in over 50,000 coats for individuals and families in need; and6 WHEREAS, Laura has organized more than 40 volunteer events and personally completed7 over 600 volunteer hours, setting a powerful example of servant leadership and inspiring8 others to give back; and9 WHEREAS, under her guidance, the regions she managed collective ly achieved over10 450,000 volunteer hours, illustrating her ability to mobilize, unite, and motivate teams toward11 meaningful civic engagement; and12 WHEREAS, Laura has cultivated and strengthened major community partnerships, including13 but not limited to the American Cancer Society - Northeast Region, Harlem Junior Tennis14 S. R. 1106 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4212 and Education Program, New York Urban League, and New York Scores, reinforcing The15 UPS Foundation's commitment to equitable access, education, and health; and16 WHEREAS, Laura has consistently demonstrated excellence in port folio management,17 ensuring that programs delivered maximum community value while operating with integrity,18 accountability, and strategic insight; and19 WHEREAS, during the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pa ndemic, Laura20 navigated uncertainty with resilience and innovation, ensuring that critical community21 initiatives continued and that The UPS Foundation remained a re liable partner to those it22 serves; and23 WHEREAS, Laura's career reflects not only her professional exce llence but also her24 compassion, generosity, and steadfast belief in delivering what matters.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 recognize and commend Laura James for her remarkable service, l eadership, and heart;27 congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend best wishes for future28 health and happiness.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Laura James.31 S.
