26 LC 112 4246 Senate Resolution 1102 By: Senator Jackson of the 41st A RESOLUTION Commending Jorvis D. McGee; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Jorvis D. McGee is a doctoral candidate at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta,2 Georgia, where he is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Higher E ducation Leadership,3 building upon prior degrees in communication and education; and4 WHEREAS, Jorvis D. McGee has served as a legislative intern in the Office of Senator Kim5 Jackson during the 2026 regular session of the Georgia General Assembly, where he6 contributes to daily operations and public service efforts; and7 WHEREAS, he further serves as president of the Graduate Student Government Association8 at Clark Atlanta University, representing more than 700 graduat e students and leading9 initiatives in student advocacy, governance, and institutional collaboration; and10 WHEREAS, in this role, he has overseen major organizational and policy efforts, including11 expanding the student government budget, advancing legislation to increase funding for12 student organizations, and strengthening graduate representation through the establishment13 of the Graduate Council; and14 S. R. 1102 - 1 - 26 LC 112 4246 WHEREAS, he has demonstrated a sustained commitment to leadership and service through15 prior professional experience with national and university organizations, including roles that16 involved strategic planning, program development, and large-sca le organizational17 coordination; and18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the service a nd achievements of this19 outstanding individual be appropriately honored.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 commend Jorvis D. McGee for his service as a legislative intern during the 2026 regular22 session of the Georgia General Assembly and extend best wishes for continued success.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Jorvis D.
