Creation of merit board; appeals from disciplinary actions. In any county there may be created by local Act of the General Assembly a merit board to hear and decide appeals from disciplinary actions against deputies and other employees of the sheriff of the county; provided, however, that no such merit board or appeals procedure shall become effective until approved and adopted by the sheriff. ## History Code 1981, § 15-16-28, enacted by Ga.
