False statements by telephone solicitors. (a) In making a telephone solicitation for the purpose of the sale of goods or services or for the purpose of seeking charitable contributions, it shall be unlawful for any person to make false statements regarding the purpose of the solicitation, the person or persons represented by the solicitor, or the person or persons benefiting from the solicitation. (b) Any person who violates subsection (a) of this Code section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. ## History Code 1933, § 26-1710, enacted by Ga.
