Ga. L. 2024, p. 922, § 3-1/SB 341, reserved the designation of this part, effective May 6, 2024. Ga. L. 2024, p. 922, § 3-8/SB 341, not codified by the General Assembly, provides: “Any assets of the Georgia Education Authority (Schools) existing as of June 30, 2024, shall devolve by operation of law and without further action to the State of Georgia on July 1, 2024, and any real property held, owned, or under the custody or control of the Georgia Education Authority (Schools) shall constitute property as defined in paragraph (8) of Code Section 50-16-31. Code Commission notes
The amendment of subsection (c) of this Code section by Ga. L. 2010, p. 863, § 2/SB 296, irreconcilably conflicted with and was treated as superseded by Ga. L. 2010, p. 1001, § 8/HB 936. See County of Butts v. Strahan, 151 Ga. 417 (1921); Keener v. McDougall, 232 Ga. 273 (1974). Pursuant to Code Section 28-9-5, in 2010, “Office of the State Treasurer” was substituted for “Office of Treasury and Fiscal Services” in subsection (c).
