20-2-887. Coverage for dependents — Where both husband and wife are eligible to be insured.

- (a)
In the situation where both husband and wife are eligible to be insured under this subpart as either a retired public school teacher, a retiring public school teacher, or an employee, each may enroll for dependent coverage so that the benefits provided by this program will be coordinated; provided, however, the sum of the total benefits provided by this program will not exceed the reasonable charges for covered services.#
- (b)
The board shall by July 1, 1980, develop and contract for a plan of health insurance which provides for the coordination of benefits coverage specified in subsection (a) of this Code section. Those persons who elect to enroll in such plan and who are presently insured under this subpart shall have six months from the effective date of the plan to enroll without furnishing a satisfactory health statement, after which anyone electing such coordination of benefits coverage must furnish such health statement.#
