Local election official defined. As used in this part, the term “local election official” means: (1) A county board of elections or a county board of elections and registration established pursuant to Code Section 21-2-40 or 21-2-40.1; or (2) A municipal election superintendent. ## History Code 1981, § 21-2-105, enacted by Ga. L. 2021, p. 14, § 12/SB 202; Ga. L. 2024, p. 689, § 10/SB 212, effective January 1, 2025. ## Amendments The 2024 amendment, effective January 1, 2025, in paragraph (1), substituted “21-2-40 or 21-2-40.1; or” for “21-2-40;” at the end; deleted former paragraph (2), which read: “A judge of the probate court fulfilling the role of election superintendent; or”; and, redesignated former paragraph (3) as present paragraph (2).
