# O.C.G.A. § 25-4-4. Eligibility of council members for public office.

Membership on the council does not constitute public office, and no member shall be disqualified from holding public office by reason of his or her membership.

## Amendments

The 2025 amendment, effective July 1, 2025, deleted “or volunteer council” following “on the council” at the beginning of this Code section.
