Title 31. HEALTH · Chapter 49. GEORGIA COUNCIL ON LUPUS EDUCATION AND AWARENESS

31-49-3. Duties and responsibilities.

  1. (a)

    The council shall have the following duties and responsibilities:#

    1. (1)

      To initially investigate the level of education concerning lupus in this state;#

    2. (2)

      Based on the results of its initial investigation pursuant to paragraph (1) of this Code section, to develop information on lupus endorsed by government agencies, including, but not limited to, the National Institutes of Health and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and#

    3. (3)

      To make recommendations to the department regarding the distribution of funds for lupus education, awareness, and research.#

  2. (b)

    The council shall develop a directory of lupus related health care services, which shall be made available on the department’s website and shall include a list of health care providers specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of lupus.#

Amendments

The first 2025 amendment, effective July 1, 2025, deleted “and” at the end of paragraph (a)(1); in paragraph (a)(2), inserted “federal” and substituted “; and" for a period at the end; and added paragraph (a)(3). The second 2025 amendment, effective July 1, 2025, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, inserted “federal” preceding “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention” in paragraph (a)(2).
