Maintenance of records, books, or papers by Commissioner generally; furnishing of copies; disposal of records. (a) The Commissioner shall enter in permanent form records of the official transactions, filings, examinations, investigations, and proceedings of his office and shall keep all records, books, and papers pertaining thereto in his office. Such records, books, and papers shall be deemed public records of the state except as may be provided otherwise in this chapter. (b) Upon the request of any person and the payment of the applicable fee, the Commissioner shall supply a certified copy of any record in his office which is then subject to public inspection. (c) The Commissioner may destroy or otherwise dispose of all records entered in his office in accordance with the rules and procedures provided for in Part 1A of Article 2 of Chapter 3 of Title 20; provided, however, that filings may be destroyed by direction of the Commissioner when superseded. ## History Code 1933, § 56-203, enacted by Ga.
