Creation; purposes. There is established a special Antiterrorism Task Force within the bureau. The task force shall operate independently of any other investigative operations within the bureau and shall devote itself to the tasks of identifying, investigating, arresting, and prosecuting individuals or groups of individuals who perform terroristic acts against a person or his residence on the basis of such person’s race, national origin, or religious persuasion. ## History Code 1981, § 35-3-63, enacted by Ga. L. 2025, p. 1029, § 35(14)/SB 153, effective July 1, 2025. ## Amendments The 2025 amendment, effective July 1, 2025, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, substituted “bureau” for “Georgia Bureau of Investigation” twice and substituted “The task force” for “This Antiterrorism Task Force” at the beginning of the second sentence.
