# O.C.G.A. § 43-1-17. Removal from office of member of a professional licensing board.

The Governor may remove from office any member of a professional licensing board for any of the following:

(1) Inability or neglect to perform the duties required of members;

(2) Incompetence; or

(3) Dishonest conduct.

## Amendments

The 2025 amendment, effective July 1, 2026, deleted “, after notice and opportunity for hearing,” following “Governor” in the introductory paragraph.

Code Section 43-1-17 is set out twice in this Code. This version is effective July 1, 2026. For version effective until July 1, 2026, see the preceding version.
