Removal from office of member of a professional licensing board. The Governor may remove from office any member of a professional licensing board for any of the following: (1) Inability or neglect to perform the duties required of members; (2) Incompetence; or (3) Dishonest conduct. ## History Code 1981, § 43-1-17, enacted by Ga. L. 1984, p. 552, § 1; Ga. L. 2000, p. 1706, § 19; Ga. L. 2025, p. 307, § 1-5/HB 579, effective July 1, 2026. ## Amendments The 2025 amendment, effective July 1, 2026, deleted “, after notice and opportunity for hearing,” following “Governor” in the introductory paragraph. ## Delayed Effective Date Code Section 43-1-17 is set out twice in this Code.
