Acts, services, practices, and procedures authorized. (a) A dental assistant is one, other than a licensed dentist or licensed dental hygienist, who is employed to assist a licensed dentist by performing those acts, services, practices, and procedures as may be prescribed by rule or regulation of the board. (b) After meeting such additional education and training requirements as the board may require by rule or regulation, a dental assistant may perform such other acts, practices, services, or procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist, which the board may prescribe by rule or regulation. ## History Code 1981, § 43-11-80, enacted by Ga.
