# O.C.G.A. § 43-4A-3. Service of process agent for nonresident athlete agents.

By acting as an athlete agent in this state, a nonresident individual appoints the Secretary of State as the individual’s agent for service of process in any civil action in this state related to the individual’s acting as an athlete agent in this state.

This Code section formerly pertained to creation of the Georgia Athlete Agent Regulatory Commission, members, terms, removal, election of chairperson and vice chairperson, quorum, rules and standards of conduct, reimbursement of members, and the role of the secretary. The former Code section was based on Code 1981, § 43-4A-3, enacted by Ga. L. 1988, p. 651, § 1; Ga. L. 2000, p. 1706, § 19; Ga. L. 2003, p. 774, § 3, and was repealed by Ga. L. 2010, p. 376, § 2/SB 149, effective July 1, 2010.
