44-4-28. Use of system not mandatory.

  1. Nothing contained in this article shall require any purchaser or mortgagee to rely on a description, any part of which depends exclusively upon the Georgia State Plane Coordinate System. Nothing in this article shall be so construed as to require any person, firm, or corporation to use this system of coordinates to obtain or secure a legal description of land or real estate.

Amendments

The 2022 amendment, effective July 1, 2022, redesignated former Code Section 44-4-29 as present Code Section 44-4-28, and substituted “Georgia State Plane Coordinate System” for “Georgia Coordinate System or the Georgia Coordinate System of 1985” at the end of the first sentence and “this system” for “these systems” in the second sentence.
