46-3-115. Terms of authority members generally; time of meeting of election committee prior to annual meeting of authority.

  1. Upon the expiration of the terms of the first members of the authority, members shall be elected for three-year terms, provided that, in the year in which a member’s term is to expire, the term shall not expire until the adjournment of the annual meeting for that year and until a successor is elected. The election committee shall meet at a date not more than 30 days prior to each annual meeting of the authority and shall elect members to fill the terms which will expire at the conclusion of such annual meeting.

Amendments

The 2025 amendment, effective July 1, 2025, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, inserted a comma following “provided that” in the first sentence.
