Editor's notes

Former Code Section 5-4-4 (Ga. L. 1878-79, p. 142, § 1; Code 1882, § 4157j; Civil Code 1895, § 4149; Civil Code 1910, § 4749; Code 1933, § 19-204), relating to petition for certiorari in appeal case tried by jury in justice of the peace court generally, was repealed by Ga. L. 1983, p. 884, § 4-2, effective July 1, 1983. This chapter consisted of Code Sections 5-4-1 through 5-4-20, relating to certiorari to superior court. Ga. L. 2022, p. 767, § 1-2/HB 916, reserved the designation of this chapter, effective July 1, 2023. Ga. L. 2022, p. 767, § 3-1/HB 916, not codified by the General Assembly, provides that the repeal of this chapter shall apply to petitions for review filed in superior or state court on or after July 1, 2023.
