State soap box derby. (a) The Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby in Lyons, Georgia, is designated as the official soap box derby of the State of Georgia. (b) The Department of Economic Development and other public agencies and leaders in the tourism industry are encouraged to work together to maximize advertising programs which permit citizens of other states and nations to learn of the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby and to visit this state for tourism purposes. ## History Code 1981, § 50-3-92, enacted by Ga. L. 2024, p. 765, § 1-2/HB 1026, effective May 6, 2024. ## Code Commission Notes Pursuant to Code Section 28-9-5, in 2024, Code Section 50-3-92, as enacted by Ga. L. 2024, p. 445, § 2/HB 1341, was redesignated as Code Section 50-3-93. ## Effective Date This Code section became effective May 6, 2024.
