Acquisition of lands within boundaries of Civil War battlefields for public access; maintenance, protection, and interpretation of sites. (a) Within the boundaries of Civil War battlefields as provided in the State of Georgia Civil War Sites Heritage Plan, the commission may, with the consent of the owner, acquire by donation, purchase, or exchange lands and interest in Civil War battlefields and memorials together with lands and interest in lands necessary to provide adequate public access to the battlefields and memorials. (b) The commission may make funds available, subject to appropriations for such purpose, for the maintenance, protection, and interpretation of the battlefields and memorials which may be subject to agreements as provided in Code Section 50-7-61. ## History Code 1981, § 50-7-63, enacted by Ga.
