Hey everyone. Thank you so much. We sure do appreciate it. We definitely have quorum right now. Um, my apologies, there's a very good chance the folders are sitting in 406. So we have ... Oh, nope. Patrick has them right here, so thank you, Patrick.
- 0:02:50
While Patrick's doing this, we're gonna go ahead and give you the quick run of show. Uh, we're gonna allow Representative Gaines to present the bill. Uh, at that point, obviously we'll do any questions if those are, uh, applicable, uh, and then we will see what the will of the committee is. Um, does everyone have a copy of the bill?
- 0:03:19
Representative Gaines, you are recognized to present the bill.
- 0:03:27
Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. I will be extremely brief. Uh, but the legislation that y'all have before you is allowing in-person electronic notary. Um, and I know Representative Gullett's here, he's worked a long time on remote online notary. What this would allow is, uh, in-person electronic notary, so instead of having to print out a piece of paper, uh, for the notary in a closing, for example, uh, y- you would be able to do an in-person on the iPad, uh, have the electronic notary, but you still would have to be in person. And Mr. Chairman, that's the bill.
- 0:03:58
