[0:12:29] Good morning, uh, members. Uh, thank you for, for being here this morning. We're gonna go ahead and call this Ways and Means Committee meeting to order. And, um, Chairman Corbett, would greatly appreciate it if you'd open us up in a word of prayer, sir. [0:12:44] Absolutely. Y'all bow with me. Dear Lord, we just wanna thank you for this day, Lord. Just thank you for the many blessings you bestow upon us each and every day. And we ask now that you, uh, uh, lead, guide, and direct us in everything that we do, and everything be pleasing in thy sight. In all things, we ask in Jesus' name. Amen. [0:12:59] Amen. Thank you very much. Um, and Happy Thursday. Uh, Leader Gambill, we have one item on the agenda. I believe it's House Resolution 3 EX. [0:13:14] The, the floor is yours to present your resolution, sir. [0:13:18] Thank you, Chairman, and, uh, members. It's good to be with y'all today. Um, so I bring to you House Resolution 3 EX, the governor's temporary suspension of the collection of motor fuel and diesel fuel taxes in response to his executive order on May the 15th, declaring a state of emergency due to acute consumer price shock. Um, we did this during session. Um, but since this occurred after session, we need to come back and ratify this. [0:13:49] It saved Georgians approximately $100 million. And this is in addition to the 390 million in savings that was brought by the 60-day suspension under House Bill 1199. So again, just like previous resolutions, this one will simply ratify the governor's suspension of motor fuel and diesel fuel taxes, and is a necessary procedure that we need to do, uh, during the time that we're together. So that, in essence, is the bill. And, uh, be happy to answer any questions. [0:14:22] Don't see any, um... Who's 14? Is it- [0:14:28] Adam. [0:14:28] We're... Okay. Absolutely, Chairman. Prince? [0:14:33] Uh, good morning, and, uh, thank you for, for Leader, for bringing this. And thank, uh, the governor for making this happen. But my question, it goes to, um, based on where we are now in the, in the world, uh, United States and what's going on in Iran, is there a possibility we could possibly, uh, suspend it again, and us having to come back? Uh, is that sort of still a possibility that we can- [0:15:02] Sir, I wouldn't wanna speak on behalf of the governor. I know that certainly could be done. [0:15:05] Of course. [0:15:06] And I'm sure that conversation is being actively monitored. But for the sake of the legislation that we have in front of us today, it only addresses the suspension of what we've just come off of. So, um, you know, that's what we're trying to do with this one, and then future suspensions would have to be determined, uh, at a later time. [0:15:24] Thank you for bringing this. [0:15:25] Thank you, Chairman. [0:15:29] I don't see any further questions. [0:15:33] Mark Towery, I make a motion. [0:15:35] Second. [0:15:35] Second. [0:15:35] All right. Uh, we have a, a motion do pass on House Resolution 3 EX, and a second. Uh, all those in favor, please signify by stating, "Aye." [0:15:44] Aye. [0:15:45] Those opposed, like sign. All right. Resolution passes. And, uh, thank you. And, and thank you for, uh, again, for this measure, um, creating, you know, additional affordability with regard to, um, Georgians, hardworking Georgians all across our state. [0:16:01] Absolutely. [0:16:02] Thank you. Yes, sir. [0:16:02] Thanks, Chairman. Appreciate it. [0:16:03] Anybody have anything further for the good of the order? Hearing none. We stand adjourned.
