In the Supreme Court of Georgia No. S26Y1855 In the Matter of Amjad Muhammad Ibrahim Decided: October 27, 2026 PER CURIAM. This disciplinary matter is before the Court on the petition for voluntary surrender of license filed by Amjad Muhammad Ib- rahim 1 (State Bar No. 382516) prior to the issuance of a formal complaint under Bar Rule 4-227(b). In his petition, Ibrahim, who has been a member of the Bar since 1994, admits that he entered a guilty plea on December 16, 2024 to three felony counts of in- come tax evasion. See 26 U.S.C. § 7201. By this conduct, Ibrahim acknowledges that he violated Rule 8.4(a)(2)2 of the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct found in Bar Rule 4-102(d). The maxi- mum penalty for a violation of Rule 8.4(a)(2) is disbarment. Ibra- 1 Ibrahim has a prior disciplinary history which includes an 18-month suspension in October 2012 for violations of Rules 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.15(I) and (II) that was extended by six months in September 2014 for new violations of Rules 1.15(I) and (II); a five-week suspension in October 2009 for failing to file a response to the State Bar’s Notice of Investigation; two formal letters of ad- monition related to that same case; and a formal letter of admonition in 2002 in an unrelated matter. See In the Matter of Ibrahim, 295 Ga. 753, 754 (2014); In the Matter of Ibrahim, 291 Ga. 774, 774–75 (2012). 2 This Rule provides that “[i]t shall be a violation of the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct for a lawyer to … be convicted of a felony.” For pur- poses of this Rule, conviction shall include “a guilty plea.” Rule 8.4(b)(1); Rule 1.0(f)(1). him seeks to voluntarily surrender his license, which is tanta- mount to disbarment. Rule 1.0(u). See In the Matter of Jones, 320 Ga. 448 (2024) (accepting voluntary surrender of license where attorney violated Rule 8.4(a)(2)). The State Bar responds that it believes it is in the best interest of the public and the profession for the Court to accept Ibrahim’s petition for voluntary surrender. We have reviewed the record and agree to accept Ibrahim’s petition for voluntary surrender of his license. Accordingly, the name of Amjad Muhammad Ibrahim is hereby removed from the rolls of persons entitled to practice law in the State of Georgia. Ibrahim is reminded of his duties under Bar Rule 4-219(b). Voluntary surrender of license accepted. All the Justices concur.
