HB380: HB380 Lower Chattahoochee Regional Airport Authority; repeal Act

The Lower Chattahoochee Regional Airport Authority was created by a 2006 state law and later amended in 2010 and 2012. This bill would repeal that original law entirely, ending the authority as a legal entity. Instead of leaving the authority's property and debts unresolved, the bill automatically transfers all of its assets and obligations to Randolph County, Georgia. The county's Board of Commissioners is given authority to sign deeds, conveyances, and other documents needed to move title of the assets and formally take on the authority's debts, including doing so in the authority's own name if necessary. The bill also repeals any other state laws that conflict with it. Although the House and Senate passed the bill, the Governor vetoed it, so the authority remains in existence for now.
