25 LC 61 0076 House Bill 469 By: Representatives Berry of the 56th, Westbrook of the 163rd, Jackson of the 165th, Crawford of the 89th, Au of the 50th, and others A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Part 3 of Article 4 of Chapter 11 of Title 16 of the O fficial Code of Georgia1 Annotated, relating to carrying and possession of firearms, so as to repeal certain provisions2 allowing personnel to carry weapons within school safety zones and at school functions; to3 provide a short title; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other4 purposes.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6 SECTION 1.7 This Act shall be known and may be cited as the 'True Campus Safety Act.'8 SECTION 2.9 Part 3 of Article 4 of Chapter 11 of Title 16 of the Official C ode of Georgia Annotated,10 relating to carrying and possession of firearms, is amended by repealing and reserving11 paragraph (6) of subsection (c) of Code Section 16-11-127.1, relating to carrying weapons12 within school safety zones, at school functions, or on a bus or other transportation furnished13 by a school.14 H. B. 469 - 1 - 25 LC 61 0076 SECTION 3.15 Said part is further amended by repealing and reserving Code Section 16-11-130.1, relating16 to allowing personnel to carry weapons within certain school sa fety zones and at school17 functions.18 SECTION 4.19 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.20 H.
