HB719: HB719 Worth County; board of education; revise compensation of chairperson and members

Under a 1986 state law, the chairperson of the Worth County board of education and its members receive a set per diem (a daily payment) for attending board meetings or traveling on official board business. This bill rewrites that 1986 law to increase those per diem amounts. The chairperson would now receive $300.00 per day and each board member $200.00 per day for meeting attendance or authorized travel as part of a board committee, plus reimbursement for actual expenses. Payment requests still have to be submitted to the county school superintendent for approval. The change would take effect on the first day of the month after the Governor signs it or it otherwise becomes law.
