A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Pastor Robert E. Knight on the occasion of his pastoral retirement; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Pastor Robert E. Knight has demonstrated his commitment to teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Robert E. Knight has faithfully served as the shepherd of five churches over the last 26 years, ministering to the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of his congregation and community through seasons of both joy and challenge; and
WHEREAS, he has traveled nearly 50,000 miles to preach the Word, performing 30 baptisms, 52 conversions, and 1,500 sermons at churches across the State of Georgia, leaving a legacy of faith that will endure for generations; and
WHEREAS, through his exemplary leadership, churches have been built and grown spiritually and numerically, expanding ministries, strengthening outreach, and fostering a spirit of unity and love; and
WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the sick, counseling the troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or humanitarian, Pastor Robert E. Knight serves as a shining example of God's righteous path; and
WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Pastor Robert E. Knight is a source of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message of peace and love be appropriately honored for his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of persons in need.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Pastor Robert E. Knight upon the grand occasion of his pastoral retirement and extend best wishes for a well-deserved season of rest, renewal, and prosperity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Pastor Robert E. Knight.
