A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Daniel O'Connor for his service in redistricting and celebrating his birthday; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Daniel O'Connor has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to public service through his extensive career in legislative analysis, policy research, and redistricting in the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Daniel O'Connor has served in various roles over decades, including with the Georgia Republican Party and the Georgia House of Representatives Reapportionment Office, contributing his expertise to the complex and critical task of redistricting legislative districts; and

WHEREAS, he has provided invaluable support and guidance to legislators, produced detailed analysis of voting patterns and demographics, and helped ensure fair and effective representation for the people of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, his work has been instrumental during multiple redistricting cycles, including the post-2010 cycle and the 2006 adjustments, during which he helped transition Georgia to single-member districts and supported efforts that shaped the legislative map of the state; and

WHEREAS, Daniel O'Connor's efforts reflect a dedication not only to sound governance and data-informed decision-making but also to upholding the democratic principles of representative government; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to honor Daniel O'Connor on the occasion of his birthday, celebrated each year on March 25, and to recognize his many years of devoted public service.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Daniel O'Connor for his outstanding contributions to the State of Georgia through his service in redistricting and reapportionment and extend heartfelt congratulations to him on the occasion of his birthday, March 25, 1963. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Daniel O'Connor.
