A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Whine Walk Run 5K and International Food Festival; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Whine Walk Run 5K and International Food Festival (WWR5K) is a Carribean Cultural 5k hosted in Piedmont Park, in Atlanta, on May 3, 2025; and
WHEREAS, WWR5K promotes health by partnering with the Board of Health and other health organizations; and
WHEREAS, the event shares Caribbean culture through a display of art and talent from various islands; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to community organization Jam Across Georgia, an organization dedicated to women's mental health, as well as another non-profit organization selected through raffle at the event; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this extraordinary event be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the Whine Walk Run 5K and International Food Festival for uplifting Caribbean culture in Georgia. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Whine Walk Run 5K and International Food Festival.
