A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Bethann Frillman; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Bethann Frillman has achieved success as a vice president of a Fortune 100 international division, a Georgia small business owner, and an engaged community leader, wielding expertise in strategic planning, risk analysis, and program management; and
WHEREAS, she has dedicated more than two decades to the Atlanta community, where she has played a key role in voter protection efforts and the improvement of the DeKalb County election process; and
WHEREAS, as a volunteer and DeKalb County liaison for voter protection efforts, she supported the DeKalb County Ad Hoc Elections Committee, developed and maintained precinct-level voting statistics to support Get Out the Vote initiatives, and analyzed the elections budget to keep county officials informed; and
WHEREAS, she has further contributed to the Voter Protection Hotline by assisting voters, communicating with county election officials, and leading a team that analyzed more than 9,000 hotline call records to strengthen state and county voter protection efforts; and
WHEREAS, as the founder and owner of Bethann Frillman Photography, she successfully managed all aspects of her fine art portrait and commercial photography business, including business development, marketing, operations, and finance; and
WHEREAS, she has additionally held executive leadership roles in the airline industry, serving as Vice President of Pacific Marketing for Continental Airlines, where she managed $1 billion in Asia-Pacific revenue, oversaw 100 staff members across 12 countries, and successfully launched the airline's first United States to Japan service; and
WHEREAS, she was Chief of Staff for Senator Elena Parent for two years, and in that capacity, she made it more seamless and efficient for Georgia's high school students to achieve lifetime success through dual enrollment; and
WHEREAS, she and her husband, Subodh, share two successful adult sons; and
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and
WHEREAS, Bethann Frillman is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Bethann Frillman for her exceptional career and dedicated service to DeKalb County as well as extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Bethann Frillman.
