A RESOLUTION
Commending Colt's Manufacturing Company for its commitment to safe and responsible firearms ownership; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Colt's Manufacturing Company has been a trusted name in the firearms industry for over 175 years; and
WHEREAS, Colt has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to promoting safe and responsible firearms ownership through various initiatives and programs; and
WHEREAS, Colt has recently launched the Safety Impact Award, a platform recognizing nonprofit organizations dedicated to firearm safety, and has engaged football legends Clay Matthews, Adam Vinatieri, Joe Thomas, and Fletcher Cox as ambassadors for this initiative; and
WHEREAS, each ambassador has made an initial donation of $5,000 to support their respective charitable partners, including Project ChildSafe, Clays For Charity, Ducks Unlimited, and the International Hunter Education Association, thereby fostering a culture of safety and community education; and
WHEREAS, the Safety Impact Award emphasizes the importance of education, training, and community engagement in promoting safe and responsible firearm ownership; and
WHEREAS, Colt is further committed to encouraging secure storage solutions to prevent unauthorized access to firearms and accidents; and
WHEREAS, Colt supports education and training initiatives for individuals of all experience levels to foster a culture of safety and accountability.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Colt's Manufacturing Company for its unwavering commitment to promoting safe and responsible firearms ownership and for its efforts to enhance community education and engagement through the Safety Impact Award and other initiatives. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Colt's Manufacturing Company.
