HB1380: HB1380 Special license plates; International Symbol of Access; provide issuance to current and former members of the General Assembly for qualified applicants

26 LC 39 5018S The House Committee on Motor Vehicles offers the following substitute to HB 1380: A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Code Section 40-2-74 of the Official Code of Georgia A nnotated, relating to1 license plates for persons with disabilities, so as to provide for the issuance of special license2 plates that display the International Symbol of Access upon the special license plate issued3 to current and former members of the General Assembly for qualified applicants; to provide4 for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other5 purposes.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:7 SECTION 1.8 Code Section 40-2-74 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to license plates9 for persons with disabilities, is amended by adding a new subsection to read as follows:10 "(d.1) Any person who qualifies for a license plate pursuant to this Code section and Code11 Section 40-2-62 shall, upon proper application on a form established by the department for12 such purpose and payment of a $25.00 manufacturing fee, be issued a license plate which13 displays an image of the International Symbol of Access and the image for license plates14 issued pursuant to Code Section 40-2-62."15 H.
