A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend an Act to create the City of Peachtree City Public Facilities Authority, approved1
May 13, 2011 (Ga. L. 2011, p. 4121), as amended, so as to provi de for terms of office for2
certain members of the authority; to prohibit transfer of membe rship in the authority; to3
provide for members not receiving any benefit of or right to or interest in assets of the4
authority; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting5
laws; and for other purposes.6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:7
SECTION 1.8
An Act to create the City of Peachtree City Public Facilities A uthority, approved9
May 13, 2011 (Ga. L. 2011, p. 4121), as amended, is amended by revising subsection (b) of10
Section 2 as follows:11
"(b)(1) The authority shall consist of five members who shall be appointed by the mayor12
and council of the City of Peachtree City. City councilmembers and the mayor may be13
appointed as members of the authority. With respect to the ini tial appointment by the14
mayor and council of the City of Peachtree City, two members shall be appointed for a15
term of three years, two members shall be appointed for a term of two years, and one16

member shall be appointed for a term of one year. Thereafter, all appointments shall be17
made for terms of three years and until successors are appointed and qualified, provided;18
however, that any member of the authority who is also a member of the city council shall19
serve for a term of office concurrent with such councilmember's term of office in the city20
council. Immediately after such appointments the members of the authority shall enter21
upon their duties. To be eligible for appointment as a member of the authority a person22
shall be at least 21 years of age, shall be a resident of the City of Peachtree City, Georgia,23
for at least two years prior to the date of his or her appointment, and shall not have been24
convicted of a felony. Any member of the authority may be sele cted and appointed to25
succeed himself or herself.26
(2) The membership, or interest, in such office shall not be a ssignable or otherwise27
transferable. Membership in the authority shall not confer upon any member any benefit28
of or right to or interest in any of the assets or properties of the authority."29
SECTION 2.30
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its becoming law31
without such approval.32
SECTION 3.33
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.34
