17-6-56.1. Continuing education programs for bail recovery agents; fee; annual requirement; certificate of completion.

  1. (a)

    The Georgia Association of Professional Bondsmen shall approve continuing education programs offered by professional associations, educational institutions, government agencies, and others as deemed appropriate for bail recovery agents to attend.#

  2. (b)

    The fee for continuing education programs for bail recovery agents shall not exceed $250.00 annually.#

  3. (c)

    Bail recovery agents shall be required to obtain eight hours of continuing education annually.#

  4. (d)

    On or before January 31 of each year, each bail recovery agent shall submit a certificate of completion of eight hours of approved continuing education to the individual or department which is responsible for issuing bail bonds for each jurisdiction in which he or she is doing business.#

Amendments

The 2024 amendment, effective July 1, 2024, substituted “$250.00” for “$125.00” near the end of subsection (b).
