HB 1568: Woodstock, City of; change corporate limits

The City of Woodstock's boundaries are set by a 1975 state charter that has been amended several times, most recently in 2012. This bill adds a new list of tax parcels to that charter so those properties officially become part of the city. The parcels are identified by their Cherokee County tax parcel numbers as recorded by the county tax assessors on March 1, 2026, and most include street addresses along Townview Drive, Bobbie Way, Industrial Drive, Dixie Drive, Bascomb Carmel Road, and Highway 92 in Woodstock. The bill does not change any other part of the city's charter or governing structure. It repeals any conflicting laws, a standard closing provision in Georgia local legislation.

Property owners and residents at the listed addresses along Townview Drive, Bobbie Way, Industrial Drive, Dixie Drive, Bascomb Carmel Road, and Highway 92 near Woodstock, who would become part of the city; also Cherokee County and City of Woodstock governments, which must update jurisdiction, services, and tax records accordingly.

Property owners in the newly annexed parcels would become subject to Woodstock city taxes, ordinances, and services such as police and zoning, instead of relying solely on Cherokee County. The change also affects which government provides utilities, permitting, and code enforcement for those properties.

• Section 1 amends Section 1.11 of the City of Woodstock's charter (Ga. L. 1975, p. 4160, as amended in 2012) by adding subsection (h), a list of tax parcels now included in the city limits.
• The parcel list identifies each property by its Cherokee County tax parcel ID and, for most, a street address in Woodstock, GA 30189.
• Section 2 repeals any laws or parts of laws that conflict with this Act, a standard housekeeping clause.
