A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the City of Tucker upon its 10th anniversary and recognizing May 2, 2026, as Tucker Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, on November 3, 2015, the voters of Tucker approved to incorporate the City of Tucker with a 73 percent vote in favor of the incorporation; and
WHEREAS, in March of 2016, the inaugural mayor and council were elected to serve the City of Tucker; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tucker is the result of years of volunteers supporting and uplifting the community and residents, including those that dedicated their time to the pursuit of incorporation; and
WHEREAS, in 2026 the City of Tucker celebrates ten years of successful governance, fiscal responsibility, and economic growth; and
WHEREAS, over the past ten years, the City of Tucker has expanded and improved the level of service to the residents and business owners; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that Tucker Day is celebrated at the state capitol in acknowledgment of the outstanding government and community in the City of Tucker.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the City of Tucker upon its 10th anniversary, and recognize May 2, 2026, as Tucker Day at the state capitol. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
