House Resolution 1239

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and congratulating SkillsUSA Georgia; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving students preparing for careers in trade, technical, skilled service, and professional occupations; and

WHEREAS, SkillsUSA Georgia is the chartered state association representing the organization across the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, SkillsUSA Georgia supports career, technical, and agricultural education by empowering students to become career-ready leaders through hands-on learning, leadership development, and the application of academic and technical skills; and

WHEREAS, SkillsUSA Georgia proudly serves 11,496 middle and high school members and 1,301 college and postsecondary members, totaling 12,797 members statewide; and

WHEREAS, during the 2025-2026 school year, SkillsUSA Georgia achieved record-breaking membership growth, reflecting the increasing demand for high-quality career and technical education pathways across the state; and

WHEREAS, this milestone demonstrates a strong commitment to preparing students for high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand careers while strengthening Georgia's workforce and economy; and

WHEREAS, the continued success of SkillsUSA Georgia is made possible through the dedication of educators, administrators, industry partners, and community supporters who provide equitable access to meaningful career and technical education opportunities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and congratulate SkillsUSA Georgia on achieving record-breaking statewide membership and commend the organization for its outstanding contributions to education, workforce development, and student leadership across the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to SkillsUSA Georgia.
