A RESOLUTION

Commending the George Walton & James Oglethorpe Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution's 2025-2026 Good Citizens; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization dedicated to the promotion of historic preservation, education, and patriotism in communities across the nation; and

WHEREAS, the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest was created in 1934 to recognize and reward individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities; and

WHEREAS, the George Walton & James Oglethorpe Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution have honored the following students as their 2025-2026 Good Citizens: Rachel Jo Davis of Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts, Anh-Thu Hoag Nguyen of Columbus High School, Mary Abigail Penoncello of Marion CountyHigh School, Daniel Alexander Rivera of Hardaway High School, Zoey Jacoria Roberts of Spencer High School, and Skylar Mackenzie Toombs of Northside High School; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of these bright and promising young Georgians.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily commend the George Walton & James Oglethorpe Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution's 2025-2026 Good Citizens and express their most sincere best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the George Walton & James Oglethorpe Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution's 2025-2026 Good Citizens.
