House Resolution 1679

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Aubrey T. Villines Jr. for 50 years of distinguished public service at the Georgia State Capitol; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Aubrey T. Villines Jr. has devoted five decades to public service in the State of Georgia, demonstrating unwavering commitment, professionalism, and leadership in his work at the Georgia State Capitol; and

WHEREAS, throughout his decades long career, Mr. Villines has been a respected figure in legal and governmental circles, contributing to the advancement of public policy and the betterment of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, his civic engagement includes active participation in professional organizations such as the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, as well as involvement in community service and mentoring initiatives that promote civic responsibility and public education; and

WHEREAS, he has further served his state and country with honor and distinction as an army officer in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War, and he was among the few officers sworn into service by his father, Army Officer Aubry Villines Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Villines has been honored with numerous awards as a result of his exemplary service, including a Certificate of Appreciation from the Georgia Optometric Association, a Presidential Award from the Georgia Chiropractic Association, and a Marriage and Family Special Recognition Award from the Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, among many others; and

WHEREAS, his service has been marked by integrity, wisdom, and a deep understanding of the legislative process, earning him the admiration of colleagues, lawmakers, and Georgians alike; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments and enduring legacy of this remarkable Georgian be appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Aubrey T. Villines Jr. for his 50 years of exemplary public service at the Georgia State Capitol and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Aubrey T. Villines Jr.
