A RESOLUTION
Commending the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia) and recognizing February 3, 2026, as BOMA Georgia Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, founded in 1913 as BOMA-Atlanta, BOMA Georgia is a trade association that has supported the commercial real estate industry in Georgia for 113 years; and
WHEREAS, the commercial real estate industry has grown to currently contribute nearly $5.5 billion to Georgia's economy annually while supporting nearly 50,000 jobs in the state; and
WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia members are responsible for the ownership, management, and administration of more than 150 million square feet of office space and additional millions of square feet of facilities throughout Georgia; and
WHEREAS, these individuals represent building ownership, professional property management firms, professional service providers, and contract services, and BOMA Georgia members have been instrumental in cementing Georgia as a national leader in commercial real estate over the past century; and
WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia's educational programs, research, and other resources have contributed significantly to our state's favorable economic development; and
WHEREAS, for two decades, BOMA Georgia has advocated for and advanced Georgia's business climate through initiatives such as the passage of HB 1385 in 2006 and SB 377 in 2020, which increased access to building plan reviews and inspections; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments and history of this extraordinary organization be recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia upon its 113th anniversary and recognize February 3, 2026, as BOMA Georgia Day at the state capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia.
