A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the City of Cartersville upon its 175th anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, founded in 1850 and named for Georgia entrepreneur Colonel Farish Carter, Cartersville, Georgia, has grown from a small railroad town into a vibrant community with a rich history and bright future; and

WHEREAS, located 45 miles northwest of Atlanta, Cartersville perfectly blends small town charm with the advantages of city access; and

WHEREAS, know as the "Museum City," Cartersville boasts world-class institutions like the Booth Western Art Museum, the Tellus Science Museum, and the Savoy Automobile Museum, showcasing art, science, and history; and

WHEREAS, Cartersville hosts a robust industrial base and full-service city utilities, which have long provided local jobs and economic stability, and the city's public utilities have served as a backbone for both businesses and residents; and

WHEREAS, the Cartersville City School System provides excellent education and opportunities for local students, playing an essential role in shaping the future of the community; and

WHEREAS, Cartersville's beautiful parks and outdoor spaces, including Dellinger Park, Pine Mountain, the Appalachian foothills, and the Etowah River, provide residents and visitors with opportunities to enjoy the beauty of nature and outdoor recreation; and

WHEREAS, the city's revitalized downtown area serves as the community's hub, featuring locally owned shops, restaurants, and regular events that bring people together; and

WHEREAS, as Cartersville celebrates its 175th anniversary, we honor the city's rich past and look forward to a future filled with growth, unity, and pride.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the City of Cartersville upon the grand occasion of its 175th anniversary and extend best wishes to each of its citizens for future health, happiness, and prosperity.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
