A RESOLUTION
Commending Paulding County's social workers during National Social Worker Month; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Social Work is a profession truly dedicated to helping people, and Paulding County employs 49 Social Workers through its Department of Family and Children's Services; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers are dedicated to enhancing well-being and helping meet the basic needs of all people, especially the most vulnerable in our society; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers follow a Code of Ethics that calls on them to fight social injustice and respect the dignity and worth of all people; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers meet people where they are and help people and communities reach their full potential; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers positively touch the lives of millions of Americans each day and in a variety of places, including schools, hospitals, the military, child welfare agencies, community centers, and in local, state, and federal government; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers have helped people cope with death and grief and communities recover from natural disasters, including hurricanes, drought, and flooding; and
WHEREAS, Social Workers are the largest group of mental healthcare providers in the United States, working daily to help thousands of Americans overcome mental illness.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Paulding County's social workers during this year's National Social Worker Month for their outstanding service on behalf of those in need as well as extend best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
