A RESOLUTION

Commending the Luella High School NJROTC Program; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Luella High School NJROTC Program was established in August 2003 at Luella High School in Locust Grove, Georgia, as a vital initiative dedicated to fostering leadership, citizenship, and community involvement among the school's students; and

WHEREAS, the program is led by Retired Lieutenant Ohmahr Fleming, Senior Naval Science Instructor; Retired Master Gunnery Sergeant Gregory Hardy, Naval Science Instructor; and Retired Master Sergeant David Young, Naval Science Instructor, who collectively wield over 77 years of military service and expertise; and

WHEREAS, serving students in grades 8 through 12, the Luella High School NJROTC Program annually enrolls over 170 cadets, providing them with a curriculum centered around leadership development and civic responsibility; and

WHEREAS, cadets in the NJROTC program contribute more than 15,000 hours of community service each year in support of both Henry County and the greater metro Atlanta area; and

WHEREAS, many graduates of the Luella High School NJROTC Program go on to serve in the military while others uphold the program's values in various leadership careers, creating a lasting impact on their communities and beyond; and

WHEREAS, the Luella High School NJROTC Program remains a cornerstone of excellence, shaping the future leaders of tomorrow through discipline, service, and leadership.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Luella High School NJROTC Program for its decades of service to the youth of Locust Grove, Georgia, and extend sincere best wishes for continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Luella High School NJROTC Program.
