House Resolution 2000

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing March 29 to April 4, 2026, as Holy Week; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Georgia is home to more than 8 million Christians; and

WHEREAS, Christians are the most racially and culturally diverse group in the world and in the United States of America; and

WHEREAS, Christian traditions and biblical values are the bedrock of the United States Constitution; and

WHEREAS, Holy Week is celebrated by Christians annually as a reminder of the atoning death and victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; and

WHEREAS, God has made us in His image, (mind, body, spirit) like the Father, Son, and Spirit; and

WHEREAS, there is no other God than the God of the Holy Bible.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize March 29 to April 4, 2026, as Holy Week. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
