A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Rowen Foundation, Governor Brian P. Kemp, Gwinnett County, and key state partners for their collaborative leadership in advancing innovation, economic development, and workforce excellence in the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Rowen Foundation is a transformative knowledge community in Gwinnett County designed to bring together research institutions, universities, technical colleges, and industry leaders to foster innovation and economic growth; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia, under the leadership of Governor Brian P. Kemp and in partnership with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the University System of Georgia, the Technical College System of Georgia, and the Georgia Research Alliance, has cultivated a strong pro-business environment and workforce pipeline; and

WHEREAS, this collaborative effort has successfully attracted major investment, including the recent announcement by UCB Inc. to establish a $2 billion biologics manufacturing facility at Rowen, creating jobs and strengthening Georgia's economy; and

WHEREAS, these partnerships demonstrate Georgia's commitment to remaining the number one state for business and a national leader in innovation and talent development.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Rowen Foundation, Governor Brian P. Kemp, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Gwinnett County, the University System of Georgia, the Technical College System of Georgia, and the Georgia Research Alliance for their outstanding collaboration and leadership in bringing transformative investment and opportunity to the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
