By: Representatives Cox of the 28th, McDonald III of the 26th, Jasperse of the 11th, Barrett of the 24th, Clark of the 100th, and others

A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the East Forsyth High School eSports team for winning the 2024-2025 3A-4A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the East Forsyth High School eSports team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and

WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable 2024 campaign, the team captured the school's first ever state championship; and

WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by winning the 2024-2025 3A-4A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate State Championship against Northview High School with a final score of 3-2; and

WHEREAS, this all-star team included players Ethan Wakefield, Victor Wissmann, Jackson Wickey, and Bobby Brown as well as head coach Justin Hodges; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the East Forsyth High School eSports team for winning the 2024-2025 3A-4A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate State Championship and extend best wishes for their continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the East Forsyth High School eSports team.
