A RESOLUTION
Congratulating and commending Cristy Lenz for receiving the 2024 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the first African American female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus; and
WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify the leadership and inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and
WHEREAS, Cristy Lenz is a dynamic force in Atlanta's entrepreneurial, activist, and community leadership circles; and
WHEREAS, a former award-winning journalist, Cristy has seamlessly transitioned from covering national issues to championing local causes, driven by a deep commitment to equity, accessibility, and community empowerment; and
WHEREAS, she has established a glowing reputation of renown through her business, Food Tours Atlanta, where she channels her passion for food and storytelling into a celebration of the city's vibrant culinary scene, rich history, and artistic culture; and
WHEREAS, Cristy has cultivated change in her neighborhood through her participation in the Inman Park Neighborhood Association, the Little Five Points Alliance, and on the Board of Beltline Rail Now, ensuring that Atlanta's growth benefits all its residents; and
WHEREAS, whether through her entrepreneurial ventures, her leadership roles, or her activism, she continues to inspire those around her to fight for a better future; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate and commend Cristy Lenz for receiving the 2024 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award and extend best wishes for her continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Cristy Lenz.
