A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Kito Jamil; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, thriving communities are built by individuals who lead with vision, courage, and an unwavering commitment to service; and

WHEREAS, as President of New Era Atlanta, Kito Jamil has exemplified grassroots leadership through his dedication to empowering residents, fostering unity, and ensuring the safety and well-being of families across metro Atlanta; and

WHEREAS, under his leadership, New Era Atlanta has organized initiatives that provide resources to underserved communities, educate residents on their rights, support Black-owned businesses, and inspire collective action; and

WHEREAS, Kito Jamil has championed programs that invest in the future of our youth, including the Youth Aviation Program, which exposes young people to opportunities in aviation, and the Black Girls Have Tea Parties Too events, which instill the principles of etiquette, class, and self-confidence in young Black girls aged 6 to 18; and

WHEREAS, recognizing that true community health includes mental well-being, Kito Jamil has led the Mental Wealth initiative—an event designed to engage the community in conversations about mental health by framing it within the value of wealth, understanding that people often prioritize financial success but must also invest in their mental well-being; and

WHEREAS, the Mental Wealth initiative has fundamentally shifted the community's perspective on mental health, breaking stigmas and encouraging open dialogue around emotional and psychological well-being; and

WHEREAS, Kito Jamil's work has not only transformed neighborhoods but has also ignited a spirit of self-determination and civic engagement throughout the region; and

WHEREAS, his example stands as a beacon of hope, showing that when the people come together, they can build a future rooted in strength, equity, and progress.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Kito Jamil, President of New Era Atlanta, for his extraordinary contributions to the people of Atlanta and his lasting impact on communities throughout Georgia as well as extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Kito Jamil.
