By: Representatives Alexander of the 66th, Bennett of the 94th, Baker of the 64th, Taylor of the 92nd, Burnough of the 77th, and others

A RESOLUTION

Congratulating and commending Michelle Calvo for receiving the 2025 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the first African American female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus; and

WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify the leadership and inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Calvo is a dedicated community leader, ordained minister, and nonprofit founder whose work is rooted in faith, advocacy, and empowerment; and

WHEREAS, as the founder of God's Girls United, she leads a nonprofit dedicated to equipping women, girls, and young men with the tools they need to thrive through faith-based mentorship, community outreach, and advocacy; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Calvo has established a glowing reputation of renown throughout Georgia for her extensive community work, including partnering with local nonprofits, youth advocates, and churches to create impactful programs; offering guidance and mentorship to those facing systemic barriers; and working behind the scenes to connect individuals with resources and relief; and

WHEREAS, she stands as a voice for those experiencing injustice, shows up for families in distress, advocates for young people impacted by violence, and ensures that those who feel unheard are represented and supported; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate and commend Michelle Calvo for receiving the 2025 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award and extend best wishes for her continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Michelle Calvo.
